Heading into a new year, I know there are many of us who make resolutions to exercise more, eat healthier, and set other personal goals and achievements as we turn the calendar to a fresh start. As you ended 2025, I hope you have taken time to reflect on your past year’s achievements and give gratitude for the many small and large blessings. One of the books that has ended my 2025 year is The Biblio Diet: Healing Secrets from the Bible by Jordan Rubin and Dr. Josh Axe.
I have followed Dr. Josh Axe and his podcast, “The Dr. Josh Axe Show”, for several years. After hearing a podcast in which he featured Jordan Ruben, I greatly looked forward to reading the recent book they co-authored. Jordan Rubin has degrees in naturopathic medicine and nutrition and has written several other books including The Maker’s Diet. Dr. Josh Axe is a doctor of chiropractic and natural medicine and holds other degrees from University of Kentucky and Johns Hopkins University.
In The Biblio Diet Jordan and Josh dive into their experiences that also led to their own recovery stories and healing primarily using God’s natural food and gifts around us. Jordan managed to defeat Crohn’s Disease and Cancer. Josh had a spinal infection that left him debilitated and in chronic pain. Both had miraculous recoveries and their book reflects their journey and the knowledge and wisdom they have gained over the years in their own research, practice, and experience.
Anyone looking to embark on health changes should add this book to their list and make it a priority to work through. Jordan and Josh give practical advice for simple, incremental changes to improve health and wellness. Additionally, they also pull the wisdom from scripture to support the framework for health and why God’s wisdom supersedes our own especially as it comes to what one should eat and not eat.

There isn’t a spot on the plate that is left untouched, and anyone struggling with health challenges or is just looking to improve their health will gain much from this book. It is a great jumping off point for readers to dive deeper into additional reading and research as their interest leads them. Additionally, the text is accessible for a variety of readers - you don’t need a medical degree to understand Jordan and Josh. Each chapter also ends with easy action items and there is a seven day eating plan to get you started located at the end of the book. Lastly, there are additional resources available at the website for the book, so readers are not left without further support as they need.
Overall, I greatly loved the Biblical aspect of health and wellness as we are the temple for the Holy Spirit and the accessibility of the reading that is appropriate for my teen readers and family members who do not typically read technical material. As you start 2026 and are maybe looking to read something for yourself, I highly recommend you check out The Biblio Diet.
